Just as VR can simulate real-life experiences in order to train students effectively, it can also be paired with therapy in order to treat severe mental challenges. For example, it can be used to elicit the triggers that perpetuate phobias, like a fear of heights. However, when patients feel like they’re in the situation that they fear, they can learn coping mechanisms to overcome their fear and control anxiety.
